Sumitomo Chemical with all 30,000 Group Companies' employees have held a "Centennial Give Back"

As it approached Oct 4th, 2015 of the 100th anniversary of the commencement of its operations, Sumitomo Chemical and its Group companies with over 30,000 employees around the world have held the "Centennial Give back" effort, doing what they could to contribute to society, in gratitude for the society that had supported each of them to this point.

This effort, in which employees from numerous countries around the world posted their individual activities to the web, started with a call to action from a comic that was translated into 10 different languages, and resulted in 31,858 posts of all types of activities from Group employees around the world, such as cleanup activities, tree planting activities, blood donation and fundraising. Through their posts including a variety of languages and pictures, each employee's action who took whatever they were capable of had a positive impact on all employees around the world, and they shared the meaningfulness of each action with the Group as a whole.

Sumitomo Chemical Group will continue to grow for the next hundred years through contributing to the sustainable development of society.
