Light transmittance

SUMIKAEXCEL PES is a transparent resin with a slight yellowish tint, and among heat-resistant engineering plastics, it has a low haze value and an excellent level of light transmittance.

Refractive index

The refractive index of SUMIKAEXCEL PES is shown below. The high refractive index of PES is a great advantage when applied to lenses, etc.

Weather resistance

Like other sulfone resins, SUMIKAEXCEL PES does not have good weather resistance. Deterioration occurs from the surface of the polymer due to ultraviolet rays.
In addition, the use of black color helps prevent loss of strength, which may make it possible to use it outdoors.
